Datong Daily: ZDATA Creates a Benchmark for "Zero Carbon" Big Data Centers
On February 10, 2023, the front page of Datong Daily featured an article titled "ZDATA: Creating a 'Zero Carbon' Benchmark for Big Data Centers." The article introduces how ZDATA, relying on the construction and operation of the ZDATA Green Big Data Industrial Base, has continuously achieved results in technological innovation, integrated source-grid-load-storage, and other aspects, contributing to Datong's dual transformation of industrial and digital sectors.

The following content is reproduced from "Datong Daily":
On January 19, our city held a grand conference to promote the high-quality development of the private economy. At the meeting, Shanxi Zhongyun Zhigu Data Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of ZDATA Technologies Co., Ltd. (Yanggao ZDATA Big Data), was included in the list of enterprises benefiting from the 2022 private economic support policies and received the 2022 Datong City Outstanding Private Enterprises Special Contribution Award. The company was rewarded with a 2 million yuan investment for digital economic industry and an industry investment contribution award.
The rise and prosperity of the digital economy have endowed it with new areas, new tracks, new dynamics, and new advantages, becoming a significant force leading economic growth and social development. Datong actively seized the opportunity window for the development of the digital economy, taking the lead in transforming from "coal transportation and power transmission" to "data transmission and computing power."
"Based on the development strategy of the Shanxi provincial party committee and government for the development of the Shanxi big data industry, and benefiting from the favorable business environment and industrial planning of Datong City and Yanggao County, ZDATA has chosen Datong for the 'ZDATA Green Big Data Industrial Base Project,' planning and constructing the largest single large-scale customized data center base in the country. The total land area is about 1,000 acres, the total construction area exceeds 500,000 square meters, and the total installed capacity is expected to be over 100,000 cabinets. The comprehensive investment in the project is estimated to exceed 30 billion yuan," said Dong Yinliang, General Manager of Zhongyun Zhigu. The project has been selected as a key project in the province for three consecutive years.

As a professional data center operator in China, ZDATA, based on the location characteristics of our city and the energy consumption and efficiency characteristics of data centers, continuously optimizes and integrates resources on the energy supply side, energy use side, and energy storage side. The company is committed to promoting the low-carbon and green development of data centers, aiming to create a "zero-carbon" benchmark for big data centers.
Entering the ZDATA Green Big Data Industrial Base project, one can feel the precise control of energy by digital technology everywhere:
The base adopts a modular UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system, achieving efficient conversion and purification of electricity and meeting the operational requirements of data centers efficiently, quickly, flexibly, and intelligently.
The DCOM intelligent operation and maintenance platform, during work, conducts real-time monitoring and dynamic management of the data center's operational capacity and energy utilization. By continuously optimizing the standard operation mode configuration and energy-saving operation mode configuration of the power distribution system, it ensures the optimal operation of various electrical devices.
The main computer room is equipped with AHU indirect evaporative cooling equipment, which can automatically switch control modes according to different weather conditions.
The data center building is equipped with a heat exchange system, which can recycle and utilize the waste heat in the park for heating in comprehensive buildings, office areas, corridors, etc.

The "Light Storage Charge" integrated system developed and applied by ZDATA in the ZDATA Green Big Data Industrial Base project is also one of the "weapons" to address high energy consumption and create a "zero-carbon" big data center. In this system, the distributed photovoltaic power generation system, energy storage system, and charging station play their respective roles. Charging during off-peak hours and discharging during peak hours effectively solve the problems of intermittent and unstable new energy generation, greatly reducing the data center's reliance on traditional energy. On December 30, 2022, the self-built 220kV substation, the largest single IDC (Internet Data Center) capacity in China, was put into operation, further improving the stability and reliability of the data center's power supply and providing more powerful energy support for regional digital empowerment.
Chairman Zhou Kang of ZDATA pointed out:
Datong is an important gateway connecting east and west, and it has the inherent advantage of close communication and cooperation with Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei. As an energy-rich city, Datong also has the stable energy support capacity to provide low-carbon, highly reliable, and energy-efficient computing power data center clusters for future computing power hubs. It can lead the country in forming a new model and new path of integrated development of "new energy + big data." "In the past five years, the development of Shanxi's digital economy has been very rapid, with a large number of big data companies settling in Datong and starting the construction and operation of big data computing power data centers. Today, Datong has become the largest gathering place for big data computing power industry in Shanxi Province, and it has initially established the industrial foundation as a national hub node. As a leading enterprise in the new infrastructure of Shanxi's computing power industry, ZDATA regards the ZDATA Green Big Data Industrial Base as a crucial point in the national data connectivity strategy. It actively undertakes the industrial demand of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei digital economy, fully supports Shanxi in becoming a national hub node for integrated computing power networks, and creates an integrated big data center collaborative innovation system frontier and a national platform."
